Counseling couples in grief and loss
Grief and loss take on many forms. For some couples, they grieve the terminal illness or death of a child…for others, the longing to have a child, and the frustration of not being able to conceive. Some partners grieve the loss of a meaningful and trusting bond with their partner.
I work with the Emotionally Focused Couple’s Therapy (EFCT) model to identify patterns of interaction, and sometimes emotional trauma, that have lead to insecure attachments between partners. I help them to identify and put into place, positive patterns of interaction that encourage each to turn toward each other, feeling safe, desired, and loved.
If you’re in need of couples counseling in Oregon or Idaho, I’d love to hear from you. Contact us using the links to the right to schedule an appointment.
glimmer of light…
Someone in this world struggles to make sense
Of the loss of trust
Between them and their soulmate partner.
Where is the person I knew
And they knew me
Someone in this world feels the loss of shared
intimacy…
Closeness
Connection
Gone for now…
Someone in this world grieves for the loss of a newborn
who never smelled a flower…
Waiting to heal their heart.
Someone in this world feels the loss of a child
who died too young…
Where is hope in the darkness?
Searching for a white glimmer of light.
